Importing zones

Import a zone from a SoundBase zone export or an IAS XML file into the current site, choosing how it interacts with your existing zones.

To import a zone:

1. In the zone toolbar, click Share Zone → Import Zone as…. The Import Zone dialog opens for the current site.
2. Choose the Import format:
   • SoundBase (JSON) — a zone previously exported with Export Zone as… → SoundBase (JSON).
   • Intermodulation Analysis System (XML) — an XML export from Professional Wireless Systems’ IAS.
3. For SoundBase files, set the Zone interactions table — one row per existing zone with the CH SPC / 2T3O / 3T3O / 2T5O checkboxes. Channel spacing defaults on, the intermodulation tests default off.
4. Drop the file in (Choose a file or drag it here) and click Import.

Caution

Imported frequencies will only be tested for channel spacing, regardless of the selected interactions. Future calculations will incorporate these interactions. If the imported zone must be fully compatible with existing zones, run a recalculation after importing.

Note

• IAS imports bring frequencies in as-is, without recalculation — a project-wide recalculation may be needed afterward. Use with caution.
• A zone file with no groups is rejected.
• Importing zones requires edit permission; it’s unavailable while SoundBase Pro is offline on a shared project.
• To move a zone between sites, export it from one site and import it into the other.
