Setting time-of-use

Give groups time ranges so acts that never overlap can reuse the same spectrum — with a Pro timeline view across the whole zone.

What time-of-use does

Time-of-use coordinates frequencies on a minute-by-minute basis. Groups whose time ranges don’t overlap are not tested against each other — no direct-hit or intermodulation checks between them — so the same frequencies can serve the 2 pm act and the 10 pm act. Groups without any time range interact with everyone, as always.

The assigned ranges appear under the group’s name in the coordination list, and reports show them next to the group.

Before you start

Time-of-use needs the project start and end dates to be set first — in the Project Details window (Editing project details). Group ranges must fall inside them.

Set a group’s time-of-use

1. Click the group’s Group Actions (⋮) button and choose Time-of-Use.
2. Click Add Time Range and set the Start time and End time.
3. Optionally add more ranges — a group can have several slots (soundcheck and show, or one slot per festival day). Multiple time ranges require a SoundBase Pro subscription; without Pro you can define one range per group.
4. Click Save. Ranges must not overlap each other, and each start must precede its end.

Apply the same ranges to other groups

The Also apply to… section lists the site’s other groups as a zone-by-zone checkbox tree. Tick any of them and saving writes the same ranges to every selected group — one pass for “all Saturday acts”.

The Timeline (Pro)

The calendar button in the zone toolbar opens the Time-of-Use Timeline: every group’s ranges drawn as bars across the schedule, so gaps and overlaps are visible at a glance. Click a group’s bar to open its time-of-use dialog directly.

Once time-of-use is in play, the coordination list’s header also gains a date Filter to show only the groups active at a chosen time.

Interactions with other features

• Calculations — candidates are only tested against groups whose time overlaps the target group’s (plus all unrestricted groups). Bulk recalculation across conflicting time-of-use combinations is blocked with a prompt to recalculate per group or per frequency instead.
• Site duplication — the Group time-of-use values checkbox controls whether the copies keep their ranges (Duplicating sites).
• Clearing project dates — blocked while any group still has a start date; remove group ranges first.
